After owning my business for 5 years I realized that while we were doing well in sales, I knew things could be better. I was always looking to tighten up my inventory, hold onto less stock going into new seasons, and streamline the buying process. Once I chatted with Gord, I knew that he was the missing piece to our business. He has taken the guesswork out of the buying process entirely, kept me on track in all facets of the business, and is a great resource for all things retail.

Prior to working with Focus Retail, I was blindly buying in season—if things looked low, we’d top up wherever we felt we could. Now, we’re able to identify exactly what we need in season, and also keep some additional budget to take advantage of promotions (something we’d never been able to plan for!) I love the fact that if I need to make a snap decision on something, I can quickly consult Gord to be sure I’m making the right choice.

Now, I feel like our store has the right balance of inventory, a great flow of continuous goods, and the additional focus that we needed to finely tune the business. This was one of the best decisions we made for our store, and we look forward to working with Gord for many years to come!
